Better-made yet more affordable than Bodum – 24oz capacity (not 16oz as shown). If you’re concerned you might be getting a poorer product because of how much cheaper this press costs compared to the more popular “name” competitor, don’t be. I own both, and the LaCafetiere is hand’s down the better product:
Plunger top is plated and will peel off [SEE UPDATE BELOW] Everything you could ask for in a small French Press: no plastic, strains well (with a coarse grind), easy to clean, attractive. I get two 8-9 ounce cups of coffee out of this.
Still pleased, but… I’m not easy to please but I’m very happy with this french press. I’m replacing my plastic coffee press after becoming concerned about toxins leeching from the plastic parts. I specifically wanted a smaller size french press to brew my one large cuppa joe every morning; the standard 1l size is just too big. I’m impressed with the build quality and finish of this product. The glass carafe is sturdy, withstanding a drop onto the carpeted floor. And, no plastic parts. Looking forward to enjoying…
