Urn failed prematurely, West Bend evaded warranty After the urn failed after only 8 months, West Bend evaded their 12-month warranty by claiming that “the unit wasn’t properly maintained”. Not worth the price Gosh! I bought this because it had the best reviews even though it cost 3 to 4 times as much as the ones with reviews that indicated they had reliability issues. This damn coffee pot broke on the 3rd use! The handle on top popped right off. It was only spot welded by the manufacturer. I put a screw in the top to put it back together again. the exterior of the pot gets extremely hot. You cannot let kids near it. Problem Solved Our church has two of these and they work great. Only problem was some of the grounds seemed to collect in bottom of pot. We solved that problem by taking a regular large coffee filter (commercial Bunn 12-cup), folding it twice into a cone, and cutting a small hole in the tip. When unfolded, it fits perfectly in the basket leaving room for the coffee to remain inside the filter. Markings are 25, 35, 45, and 55, but if using pre-measured 12 cup coffee packets, 2, 3, 4 or 5 respectively, work…
