Filtered water tastes “refreshing” We had two kinds of flakes in the water from our fridge: 1) Translucent flakes that floated; and 2) White flakes that sank. I ordered this filter over 5 years ago as a … I ordered this filter over 5 years ago as a pre-filter to my refrigerator. The big advantage has been that I only had to replace the expensive internal Bosch filter three times over that same time period, so this filter pays for itself and provides more consistent water to my fridge and ice cubes. I have had absolutely no problems with this filter and am sure it has plenty of years remaining, since no way I am near 20,000 gallons of use. One thing I did have to do is to flush this filter…
