  1. Works Great When Used as Directed Other 5 star reviews are spot on. I have been using this for nearly two years and am only now getting near the bottom of the 20 oz. (almost 600g) package.It’s not a descaler, it’s not a general cleaner, it’s for coffee gunk and in particular for espresso machines that can backflush. (Lesser consumer machines don’t have the 3-way valve needed to do a true backflush. Not only does this give off the impression that it’s dirty, but it’s actually retaining oils from the coffee … I use this for cleaning my espresso machine, but even more often, I use this for cleaning coffee pots, travel mugs, and coffee/tea cups. After a while, these items tend to stain, and regular washing or putting them in the dishwasher won’t get the stains out.
