Just a few issues to overlook I unpacked this item and had one initial disappointment: the 12-cup carafe was smaller than my “Mr. Coffee” and “Black and Decker” pots (which were also, 12 cups). I filled the B&D carafe to the 4 cup line, poured that water into the new PS carafe, and the water sat at the 6-cup line. Happy I am quite pleased with this coffee maker. Among its many positive features is the well designed human interface. Most coffee makers have four or five buttons and figuring out which one to push is just about the last thing I want to do when I first wake up.
