Do Not Waste Your Money There are two problems that I had the opportunity to find with the carafe (before it became unusable):Minor problem: The cork cover seems to be treated with something that gives off a terrible bitter flavor if/when even the smallest amount of liquid comes in contact with it and ends up in your cup. I love the style of this carafe and being able to make a 4 cup/2 mug ‘pot’ of coffee is perfect for relaxing and reading a book, having a quick snack or just sitting outside and enjoying the day. The carafe is double walled to keep the coffee or tea warm long enough to enjoy the contents to the bottom, but it will not hold it longer than about an hour, for that you need to go to something thermal. I’m used to pour-overs, and I’m used to the old-fashioned glass carafe which sits in its metal holder over a tea-light. I use both, for different reasons – pour-over makes a fast and delicious cup, glass carafe provides a little breakfast theatre if you have guests and also keeps a fair amount of coffee hot for a while.
