How much coffee is used in a 30-cup coffee urn?

That depends on how strong you like your coffee.

Most coffee urns call for one tablespoon of coffee per cup. So the norm would be to use between 24-30 tablespoons of coffee or (about 1-1/2 Cup) then fill with water to the MAX fill line.

  1. Noisy and expensive to run This product runs the whole time that it is plugged in without going into the warm mode. Not only does it cost more money to run but the noise that it makes while working is active the entire time that it is plugged in. Also, the inside is not polished stainless steel. I would not recommend this product, especially if you’re an observant Orthodox Jew who needs to keep the kettle plugged in over the sabbath.

  2. Did not work. I Was so excited to get my Coffee Urn but It did not work. I run it for hot water first and 2 hrs went by and it did not set to ready/warm. I read the instructions to find the reset button at the bottom, I did and tried to make coffee and again I never got to Ready/warm. Water and then coffee boiled and boiled and by the time I said enough it was only half way full. All the rest of the water/coffee evaporated.   3. WARNING! Does not perk. As many others said … WARNING! Does not perk. As many others said and I didn’t listen, 9 out of 10 times the grounds aren’t even damp after running a cycle.
