Great coffee machine, but the price set my expectations high I’ve used this for a week now and have been pleased with it. I bought this to simplify my coffee making in the morning. I used to use a Chemex brewer which is still the best so I use it on the weekend when I’m in less of a rush. This is less time consuming and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time. I already had an adequate coffe maker, a Cuisinart DCC 3200 14-Cup Coffee Maker with a glass carat, but I was looking for a coffe maker that made really good tasting coffe.
Makes great coffee if you spend a lot of time and effort This brewer makes a wonderful cup of coffee, but you have to be really, really dedicated to use it. Despite the deceptively simple web page descriptions, it takes a lot of work, both to make the coffee and to keep it clean. Quite expensive for what it does; an old-fashioned Chemex with a paper filter tastes just as good, and requires much less effort.
