Great for the price If you want to make espresso that is as good as you’ll get for $2.00/shot at a coffee house, this machine isn’t for you. If you want a coffee pot/espresso combo in the $100 range, you will get the best value with this combo. I can make a very good latte with it, and a fairly decent shot of espresso — and very good coffee. The negative reviews I’ve read seem to be from two types: 1) Those who really need to spend more to get a beautiful golden crema-topped shot of espresso. I understand, but…
Product is Very Poorly Manufactured We had Krups coffee makers for years, but then switched to a Cuisinart. Those earlier Krups were great machines, and made both coffee and espresso, just like this one. So when the Cuisinart sprung a leak, we ordered the Krups XP1500. What a disappointment.
Krups Combo Machine Simple & Effective – Update 5/25/15 UPDATED REVIEW: Well. I’ve had this Krups for a little over 2 years and now that the freshness has worn off – it’s time to tell the truth. Sure, I was happy to have a double function machine – although I had to remove the stupid plastic piece from the steamer portion and the espresso that you get is only enough to make 2 lattes – and you better be generous with the milk.
