Inspired by professionals and designed for connoisseurs, KRUPS products have been built with three key attributes in mind: Passion, Precision and Perfection. The KRUPS FME214 Programmable Coffee Maker quickly brews better tasting coffee thanks to a 1100-watt heating element and a cascading brew head that delivers a shower of hot water to ensure even flavor extraction. The aroma function enables one to choose a more intense extraction, ideal when brewing smaller amounts. Featuring a highly visible blue illuminated LED control panel the KRUPS FME214 Coffee Machine is easily programmable, which allows for waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The pause and serve feature enables interruption any time during the brewing cycle to remove the carafe, a nice feature, particularly for those in a hurry for that first sip. And for the ones who have the head in the clouds in the morning, an audible signal sounds when the brewing cycle is complete and the empty water-reservoir detection function shuts the unit off automatically if empty. The KRUPS FME214 Programmable Coffee Maker used a duofilter water filtration system to guarantee excellent-tasting results and help reduce mineral deposits for longer machine life. With the FME214 Coffee Machine KRUPS commits to a perfect cup of coffee each and every morning.

Water well smells of plastic! have had this model 5 yrs ago made great coffee too. Now the inside where the water goes smells like plastic no matter how many times I ran water through it. I thought the heating element like all new things smelled awhile but it is actually the water tank and it smells in the coffee too. This older model was around $55 but I paid twice that because I like the FRONT OPENING to removed the coffee grinds as the pot is under the upper cabinets. Disappointed. By the way, it seems all the brands…
This is by far the worst coffee maker I’ve ever owned This is by far the worst coffee maker I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had a great many throughout the years – including Krups. First thing that is extremely annoying is that the lid to the coffee pot does not come off! It makes it very hard to clean the pot when you can’t remove the plastic top, not to mention the difficulty in filling the pot with the top that only tilts about halfway. Okay, that’s a minor annoyance, but the real reason I hate this appliance is that it insists on you de-calcifying…
