Good machine with caveats This machine is a good product spawned by a good idea: Engineer it pretty well (especially where it counts), trim the features, and produce it inexpensively. Better than my Breville I’ve had a Breville for a few years now, it cost around twice as much as the Klarstein. It was supposed to be a 15 bar but I have my doubts, although I will say that it always produced exceptional crema. BUT, it was very noisy, and had a tank design that requires you to pull off the portafilter (the handle that you pour the coffee into) in order to fill with water. Weak coffee, filter basket is too small The filter basket (even the double-shot one) is so small that it is impossible to make a decent cappuccino. I’ve tried using a super-fine grind, but no luck. To make one good coffee, I have to load it twice, which is a PAIN. Also, using my instant thermometer, I see that the water temperature falls rapidly while it is pumping.
