If you poor at anything faster than a snail’s pace You get what you pay for. It does the job but its poorly designed. The filter container must be slid out to fill with grinds. I prefer the kind that opens from the top. The caraffe spout is also disappointing. If you poor at anything faster than a snail’s pace, you will spill coffee all over your table.Get one as a spare or for a guest house, but not the best for proper everyday use.

Fast TWO cups of coffee I use a 7-inch filter (available at my local grocery) and keep in mind that this unit makes TWO cups, not FOUR. (a cup is still 8 ounces in MY kitchen!) It is my second one; the first started getting ‘noisy’ after 6 years of daily use and I decided to get a new one before the old one died. I recommend cleaning with ReaLemon juice to remove limestone-type white buildup and stains. With my tap water I clean it about 3 times a year, regular wash dish detergent of the basket and carafe once a day…
