Makes weak coffee and doesn’t contain the water. I bought this simply because it was cheap. I should have known better. The coffee that comes out is like a weak tea. Even a bold, dark coffee is weak. I drink coffee black so it’s all about the flavor. Maybe if you add cream and sugar it might be fine.
Excellent one cup machine that can be used with or without pods I originally had a single cup maker that had a little reusable basket that you could fill with your own coffee. It worked okay, except you had to dump the grinds and clean the filter basket each time. It eventually died and when I looked for a replacement I came across the HB maker. I liked the price, but not the fact that you had to buy the rather expensive pods to use it. After a little investigation I found you do NOT need these pods to use this machine. Durable little coffee maker brought me years of morning job I bought this personal coffee maker back in 2011 and used it for MANY years, even after the Keurigs came out. The pods were so much cheaper than the K-cups. I used the Senseo pods, which you can buy them on Amazon and they were pretty good.
