could have been a well-made one A new stock that I purchased here. When I received it, the sprout tip actually sticked out of its factory packaging. Since Amazon packaged it well in a shipping box, there was no visible damage to the sprout or the unit itself. It was mirror shiny all around and the handle was attached firmly. It was solidly made and the doubled-wall/lid were nicely crafted. The coffee came out ok, as others have mentioned, there were some grounds in the coffee. Pretty good but not as nice as newer version I make cold press coffee at night for iced coffee the next day. I was looking for the largest possible press because I drink lots of it here in the desert. This was the largest I could find that still fits in my fridge.
Beautiful pot I’ve had two other presses for coffee and tea for larger groups – one glass carafe broke and the handle on the other broke. This one is replacing the glass ones and so far I’m impressed for the price. It is a beautiful stainless steel press and works beautifully so far. I love the double wall and the fact it is not fragile and doesn’t get hot on the outside to burn you if you touch it.
