Burn hazard I loved the size and cuteness of a small coffee maker, but the first time we used it, it overflew and my whole counter was just a huge coffee lake, never reaching the carafe. The steam was coming out through all orifices, burning, very dangerous! Tried to wash it thoroughly again, and it did the same thing 3 days in a row. The upper lid never closes, so steam was coming out everywhere, a huge mess every time, horrible and very dangerous product.
Leaks I was excited to receive this kettle. It’s very attractive and seems sturdy. However, the second time I went to use it, it started leaking in the area of the on and off switch. I didn’t realize it at first and it leaked all over the counter, around the plug and around the heating element. Please follow the directions on the first time use with the cleaning directions. Lastly, no need to fill it to the rim with water if you only need a cup or two. In fact, the less water in the kettle, the faster it boils and this was significant I found.
