100% Kona Coffee Espresso Roast – 5 Pounds Premium Gourmet Ground by Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation

100% Premium Espresso Roast Kona Coffee starts with carefully cultivated trees grown in the famous Kona Coffee Belt. These highly praised and rare beans are hand-picked and expertly processed so that only the highest-quality beans make it to our Roastmaster. Prior to roasting, these beans are carefully cleaned, graded and color sorted to separate the desirable green-colored beans from the much less desirable black, white, yellow and brown beans that would otherwise impart an off-taste after roasting. 100% Premium Kona Coffee maintains an exacting standard of 16/64 inch and 17/64 inch size beans for high consistency and quality. Espresso Roast is characterized by its dark roast, which creates a slightly bitter taste profile, with noticeable overtones of chocolate. It has a smooth aftertaste and is mildly acidic. It is our darkest, richest roast! In every region of the world, superior coffee is achieved by growing in high elevations. Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation is located in one of the highest elevations in Kona, Hawaii. We attribute our exceptional quality beans to our location and the fact that we have cooler growing temperatures and more rainfall. On the farm our skilled pickers only pick the ripe, red fruit and leave the unripe fruit for future picking. Then we take care when processing the picked coffee fruit. First, the fruit skin is removed leaving the coffee beans. The beans are cleaned and dried on large shade-covered drying decks until they meet our precise moisture content. After some additional grading processes, our coffee is small batch roasted with each roast overseen by a highly-experienced Roastmaster. This attention to detail and quality brings out the best in each coffee bean that is only possible with small-batch roasting. With our Aloha, we are proud to bring you this delectable 100% Kona Coffee from the volcanic slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa mountains. Use in your pourover or coldbrew.

  1. DO NOT BUY This product arrived with a tear in the bag and the coffee beans exposed. I cannot consume something that has been exposed to the environment or possibly tampered with. Worse yet, they have a no return policy so I guess I just threw away $25.Update: Upon a 1 star review for our damaged bag of coffee we received 2 complimentary bags of beans and coffee mug as an apology from Mountain Thunder. Thanks for the redemption! We love your coffee and will definitely buy from you again…

  2. I like the Peaberry French Roast that we got while in … I like the Peaberry French Roast that we got while in Hawaii, but this Espresso is very good as well. Mountain Thunder coffee is delicious! I think I like it even better than the Kauai Coffee we used to buy at the commissary. I highly recommend it!

  3. Best 100% kona coffee for the price Kona coffee is not like other coffee. How do I know? Well we lived in the coffee belt above kona for many years and since become discerning coffee drinkers. It has a smooth taste. Not charred or smoky or bitter aftertaste like some franchised brands we all know. We actually would regularly visit Mountain Thunder coffee on the weekends. They are wonderful people there and they make an excellent product. We’re lifelong customers. I miss being able to go there often.
